South Carolina has long been a popular vacation and recreation destination, especially the Myrtle Beach area. Consequentially, the state is blessed with many beautiful public golf courses, including:

1. & 2. The Barefoot Resort and Golf at North Myrtle Beach is home to four different golf courses: the "Norman Course", the "Dye Course", the "Love Course" and the "Fazio Course". The Love and Fazio courses have been rated as two of the best public golf courses in not only the state, but in the country over all, and, as their names imply, were respectively designed by Davis Love III (a Carolina native), and reknown golf architect, Tom Fazio.

The golf season in Myrtle Beach never really ends, but winter can be hit and miss, so it’s best to get in a few rounds of golf during the fall. Fall in Myrtle Beach is the best time for golf because the weather is still pretty nice, and all of the tourists have gone home. The pre-winter Myrtle Beach golf season is a great time for east coast locals to play on the over 100 golf courses that Myrtle Beach has to offer.

Golf is growing in popularity, due to its ease and its positive attributes. It is a good game to pick up and although its rules are not difficult to understand, its skill is difficult. Golf is an honorable game, with the overwhelming majority of players being honorable people who do not need referees.
