If you are interested in taking a golf vacation, you should consider going to Myrtle Beach. With tons of activities in the golf vacation area, Myrtle Beach is a great place to spend a family vacation. There are tons of adventurous trips aside from golf that can help you enjoy your Myrtle Beach vacation.

For example, one great way to enjoy the grand Strand area and your family vacation is to check out the Myrtle Beach State Park. This is four miles south on Highway 17, has 312 acres of beaches and oceanfront land. Activities include camping, renting a cabin, picnicking, fishing and visiting the nature center, not to mention all the swimming, beachcombing and other water activities you can enjoy on the one mile stretch of beach. Take a hike on the 4.4-mile Sculptured Oak Nature Trail for a close-up look at native foliage and wildlife. Huntington Beach is the other nearby state park, three miles south of Murrells Inlet on Highway 17.

One other great park that is part of the Huntington Estate is Brookgreen Gardens. This has the first public sculpture garden and the Low Country History & Wildlife Preserve. A lovely way to see both of these sites is to take a Low Country Tour, a five hour motor ride. You can see many works of American sculpture nestled among the many acres of landscaping.

There is also the Low Country Preserve, where you can enjoy native plants and animal habitats, including aviaries, an otter pond, an alligator swamp and a fox glade. Preserve visitors have three options for seeing the natural habitat: by foot on the Low Country Trail, by boat, or on an overland vehicle adventure. Myrtle Beach, is also known as The Grand Strand, which houses an impressive array of parks for all personalities who visit the area.

Myrtle Beach is also home to Sportstown USA and is also known as the golf capital of the world. If you are up for death defying speed demons and burning rubber, visit the NASCAR SpeedPark, on the Highway 17 Bypass, for stock car racing, racing games and racing simulators. Myrtle Waves Water Park is another place for thrills and spills, with over thirty water rides.
